Since the Monogram figures fit the time period of my track perfectly, I purchased several sets of them. The detail and paint jobs on them are first rate! However, just so the pits weren't full of clones, I painted a few sets. I also picked up a few Scaley pit crew packs to round out the area. They were pretty poorly painted to say the least. I've got them painted, but haven't done the facial features yet.

I've posed them next to the originals for contrast.

Anyway, here's to diversity...

They look very good!!!

But why didn't you buy the white MRRC's in stead of paying more for the pre-painted Revell/Monogram ones? They are exactly the same figures!

I have two sets of ten MRRC guys (the first figures i bought), but they look to old in my modern pitlane. I have replaced them with SRA figures. I will have to convert them to spectators of vendors, some of them I can use in the paddock, working on some old Le Mans racers preparing for a Le Mans Classic session!

Looks great!, how about adding some waterslide decals of different team logos to the backs and front pockets of the overalls to distinguish them even further.

I am a big fan of the mrrc figures, I have 1 of each of the 5 sets of 10-12 people (or was it 4, mainly remember that the painting took a lifetime!!) Personally I think they are the most realistic figures in 1:32, equalling preisser, except that preisser are more expensive and come already superbly painted and detailed. (well, the first mrrc set is so-so, the other sets are brilliant)

Unfortunately they are discontinued, because Revell/monogram own the licences, and have re-released them themselves, painted very nicely, but in sets of 4 figures (only 2 sets available so far)

Check e-bay, the mrrc figures still turn up from time to time.

Bingo on the MRRC ones not being available. I actually found 1 box of the spectators/pit crews, but they are actually wrong for my circuit. They are dressed in heavy coats, and look like the 1920's to me.
