Hi everyone,

I succumbed to temptation whilst at the (brilliant) Slot Festival over the weekend and joined the NSR club by purchasing a beautiful Corvette C6R in red test livery.

The car is absolutely gorgeous and I'm blown away by the quality of all the components.

The only problem is that our tracks lap timing system doesn't count NSRs white guide blades when they cross the line so I need to find a black alternative.

I've had a look on Pendles NSR spares page, but they all seem to be white.

Could anyone point in the direction of a black alternative that definitely fits the NSR cars?

It can be as deep as necessary as we race on a routed wood track.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Hi Wallbanger,

We've tried this before, but unfortunately the marker isn't particularly resilient and scratches off within a matter of laps. Even before this, it doesn't count every time. Thanks for your reply though

In other news, I've found a cheaper allen key!
One problem out the way, now for the guide

Hi have not tried this on the Corvette but we did an endurance race two years ago with the Moslers and used Slot.it Timber Track Guides (the ony part that failed on any car for the 6 hour endurance race though).

Thanks Ratracer.

I did try a Slot.It wood guide in it earlier but it seemed a bit stiff. If there isn't another alternative, I'l just file the hole down slightly and go with this option.

Thanks for your help,

Dave

I have been using the SlotingPlus guides of late on my Slot.it's (these are also white) and have had to file out the guide holes, this has worked well.

If a permanent ink marker did not work the Rit clothing dye will dye it all the way through. Boiling it will not hurt it and you can make any dark color you want.

I also looked at Pendles site when purchasing Slot.it guide and the photo was of a white one but I was told it will be black guide. Email the guys at Pendles and ask them if they have the black guide.

I'd be interested in a black NSR guide as well. I've tried each of the 3 Slot it wood guides I've got in stock and while they do vary they are too stiff to use.

Having just checked the latest NSR catalogue, it seems like they only do white guides

I replaced the guide on my Clio with a Slot.it guide, which worked fine. For the P68 I tried the same thing but it requires modifying the hole in the chassis, so I just painted it with black nail varnish and that did the trick.

Ran a drill through the mount last night and Slot it wood guide is a good fit. Tyres glued so ready for this evening. Are you running yours tonight Dave ?
