We are running Scaley TransAms on my 30 metre home circuit and trying to keep the playing field as level as possible. Simple rules, no gear ratio changes, one standard bar magnet and standard wheels. Upgrade motors to V12/2b are allowed.

So now we need to agree on a "control" tyre or wheel/tyre combo.

As near as I can figure, the dimensions for the standard tyres are:
Front: 20 x 8
Rear: 21 x 9

The standard wheels seem to be
Front: 12 x 8
Rear: 12 x 9

Please correct me if I've got it wrong.

I'd be interested in what tyres are available that will give good grip on the plastic track without impregnating the surface.

Also, if wheel changes become ok in the future, what combo wheel/tyre recommendations are there?

Thanks (and cheers!)

Looking at the prof's tire chart, the car calls for (my first choice) Indy Grips #1009. The prof's alternate(also very good) is the #PMTR4614.

Hope this helps.
