I just recreated the mold for my Group 44 Triumph TR8 body.

These are slosh cast resin bodies which were originally intented to fit a shortened Fly Capri or Lancia Beta chassis. They would serve very well on any number of sidewinder or in line chassis set ups like TSRF, or Slotit. You can choose to build your own interior like I did or use one from the donor car.

Price for this casting which includes decal sheet is $25.00 plus shipping

You can see the real car here :- TR8

DANG! Where was that website when I needed it?
I first saw those TR8s at the Triumph reunion at Mid Ohio... At the time I was a TR4 owner and like most of my ilk thought the "Wedges" weren't REAL Triumphs... Did I change my mind after seeing the two of them crounched in the Group 44 paddock looking plain evil.

Getting good shots of various views of the car to model from took almost forever. The project was on the back burner for nearly 2 years. Everytime I thought I had the car "right" there was another shot that had me scratchin' my head...

I had chassis number 1998 back in 1996... oh, yeah and the rest of the car with it as well!

I can't remember the chassis no of the later Solihull car I owned for 5 years but it was a much better car. I bought a £500 XR2 to take the load off it for when the weather was bad and half the time the XR2 refused to start and the wedge fired up first time. Currently living a wedge flashback at the moment since one of my Celica headlamp motors has packed up...

Which reminds me back when I thought that I'd make room for a permanent setup at home using Micro Scalextric track, I knocked up these beauties....

Bodies from Matchbox Powertrack cars from the mid 70s (I assume so since they have the earlier single bonnet bulge rather than the double of the v8s and later two litres) with Tomy Turbo chassises glued inside. The blue one is a repaint (and still needs varnishing), the others are as the bodies came.

Coop... Y'ole Devil,

I can only give you partial solace...

I don't take paypal. I will gleefully accept Western Union Money orders,
international bank checks and cash dollars (David Lawson will vouch that I'm a
fine and honest fellow). OBTW The Southend club has a number of my 1st run.
I'll gleefully send my stuff anywhere in the world...

I can certainly vouch for Greg being a fine upstanding gentleman and here is an example of one of his fine bodyshells. This one started life as an Airfix Triumph Herald which was posted to Greg by a SSRC member, Greg converted it to the racing Vitesse and recast it, sevearl of the resin shells then travelled back to Southend for us to build up and fit chassis to. Also note Greg's excellent decals.

The problem is who can vouch for me.

QUOTE (JohnP @ 7 Dec 2004, 14:13)Is glass included with the shell Greg? If not, how did you go about making the windscreen, etc.?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Glass isn't included. I could make a pattern from the Scalex original but it won't
help much. This is a slosh casting. Each windscreen's exact dimensions will vary
dependant on how the owner preps the shell. It wasn't hard to make the
windscreens for my TR8. I made the pattern in paper then used acetate overlay
film for mine. There's a bit of fitting that needs to be done, but it's no worse than
anything else I've built.
