A recent visit to my local hobby store today and I came across a few Revell 1/32 "quick kits", a couple of Ferrari 360 Modenas, Paris Dakar in RedBull Livery etc for less than a tenner each! They do look rather nice and I was wondering if its possible to convert them specifically the Ferraris's?
I am reasonably practical but have never attempted this before so I am just after some guidance on wether its worth it in the first instance and what chassis could be used as a good replacement (the Revell body looks to have 2 screws front and back for its kit chassis) but I do not mind having to remove or replace these to suit another chassis.

Anyway, thought I would ask the font of knowledge that is Slotforum before I decide to purchase them.

I have converted the Citroen Xsara, the preprinted finish is very good and hard wearing. Finished slot car has proven to be very robust unlike the Hornsby kits. I modified the existing chassis to take motor and guide so not the fastest car we have. Only awkward bit was cutting into the cockpit area to fit the motor.. Good luck

Many people do convert them Mark. I guess the simplest way is a PCS32 'universal' chassis from Pendle Slot Racing but I'm sure there are many options.

You can graft the Ferrari F360 kits onto a Scalextric "impact resistant" F430 chassis with hardly any effort whatsover (in the full size world both cars have effectively the same chassis so all the dimensions come out OK). Here's mine

Here is my Revell Dakar Nissan on a Ninco Ranger chassis. I'm actually running the static kit wheels and tires, they work great!

yes real easy. the high impact cars go for a small fortune now on ebay. because their light [no driver or cockpit] and are a good basis for a race[club car].john.
