I went to a local shop yesterday and I was surprised to see the new Corvette from Revell. The first two liveries are already out. I didn't see any shop announcement stating their availability. BTW, they look great !

Also on display was the Fly Lola Banana Joe and the ETCC BMW from the Spanish dealer's team (2nd livery).

On the other hand, Scalextric's Renault wasn't yet deliveried.

Admittedly, I like these Revell cars, sucker for those looks & quality... although not a fan of the Carrera running gear, the problem (IMHO) is solved if everyone runs with the same cars.

If only they ran as well as the MRRC Cobra's... sigh.

Hi Jamie,

Well this time, it wasn't on the web !

It was my first visit to this shop that is quite a long way from home and I was quite surprised to see the 'vettes.

The shop proved to be VERY expensive, so I only bought one of the latest 1/32 DTM Revell kit that are quite hard to find at the moment.

Apparently Revell have done a "Carrera" with the new Vette and reduced the number of teeth on the pinion from 10 to 9. This should liven Revell products up on home circuits.

saw them in my local scalex shop. They are nice, but in my view - although i prefer real corvettes to real cobras - they are not as nicely done as revell/monogram's cobra, so I didnt buy

Today I have bought the two cars, and I have to agree with Astro : nice cars, but if you watch the Cobras, they have made a step backwards. Details are not so precise, and also the paint has some little faults. I have not run them yet, but I hope they will brake better than the Cobra.

How strange.

From just looking at the photo's; the quality looks right up there with the Cobra.

Edited to add: Thanks for the feedback. I'm not doubting anyone's opinion, just slightly disappointed to hear about the quality issues.

lets hope revell manage to keep up the standard they set with the cobras...been waiting for the vettes to arrive for what seems like an eternity...

Today I have raced them and they run very well; I think the complaints I have made previously are due to the shape of the body; let me explain : Cobras have a "round" design that more easily was built as a model and has a more "real" appareance; Vettes instead have an "angled" shape and perhaps they were made a little too plain.
Furthermore, when a manifacturer does a very good job, as the Revell Cobra is , one has great and perhaps too high expectations in future releases.
Anyway, I wanted them and I am not disappointed.

I am Patiently waiting them in the US. Just heard there may be a delay till febuary.Oh well we are always late on the new models.

THey look good to me in the photos and Im glad to hear youre explanation sprint, makes me feel better , i was getting a little nervous about them .
