Sorry I couldn't help it, but the NSU brought back totally forgotten memories : 1970, futile attempt to have a go at the Abarths by fitting Tecalemit-Jackson fuel injection to the TT - it's Sunday afternoon at the test bed and we need to measure fuel consumption - we go to a pharmacy and buy an enema bag...

Ciao

Revell-Monogram announced these back in November last year:-

The new additions to these are the NSU, Porsche 550 and Jaguar E-Type, but horror of horrors, they seem to have dropped the March GTP and the 1:24th scale Chaparral 2D! Oh nooooooo.......

The figures appear to be reissues of the original Monogram figures, already reproduced by MRRC. I really wish that they would find the Monogram Lola T-70 mould....

Kind regards

Hi Russell,

the thing with the 1:24 Chaparall was a common misunderstanding. It's a regular static/die cast model, not a slotcar. revell never planned to get back into the 1/24 scale business. But as the model had been placed on the same page as the slotcar (notice the different background colors) everybody thought it would also be one.

Hi Biberle,

Has the March GTP really been dropped ?

That would be very bad news and I can't find any reason for it.

There was a lot of applause when it was announced.

Since it was meant to be the last model of the year, I figure it could just be that it has become the 1st for 2005 ?

Nice to see that they are committed to making slotcars again!

Nice Jag and Porsche! And that NSU looks cool too

Have they improved the gearing on their recent models? I absolutely love the Daytona coupe, but it needed some work to sort out the running (like widened track and lower gearing). Can't say I mind when they look that nice though

Could be, as it seems to be a list for the dealers what to expect for 2004 (orders and so on). I don't believe that not standing on the list means automatically that it has been dropped.

It was the same with the Greenwood Corvette. First scheduled for 2003, it suddenly disappeared from the relase lists. So I#M optimistic that we'll see this car in 2005 - the Slot.It 956/962 needs a competitor!
