RIP - Alan 'Lofty' Joyce
It is with a sad heart that I announce the loss of yet another former member of Eastcote Scalextric Club.
Known as 'Lofty' due to his 6ft + height to his friends and racing colleagues of Eastcote in the 'Ninco' slot car era, he was a quiet gentle man who got on with everybody. In recent years he had to give up work to be a full time carer for his wife, but his own health was starting to wane over the last few years as he was diagnosed as having cellulitous of the heart.
After a mild stroke/heart attack on Christmas Eve 2021 he collapsed and was rushed to hospital and into Intensive care. Regretably he lost his battle and passed away yesteday evening (Jan11th 2021) whilst still in hospital.
