As you may have read on the Wellingborough thread we will be working on the new clubroom this Bank Holiday weekend.
Saturday 2nd June from 9am.
Tuesday 5th June from 9am.
Gavin may be available on the other days if enough people want to go.
Hope to see lots of you there.
Cheers.

Hi all,
A huge amount has bee achieved over the long weekend.
All the plaster boarding is done and the plasterer is coming in some time this week.
We now have our own entry door sorted.
Gavin has worked every day over the weekend and has made a superb framework to support the scale track.
Gavin always thanks us for the work we do but I think we all owe him a huge vote of thanks for the tremendous amount of work he's put in.

Next work evening is Thursday from about 7pm.
The more of you that come the more we can get done.

Next weekend work party will be Saturday 9th June from about 9am.

Cheers.
Mick.

Hi all
I too would like to say a big thanks to Gavin for allowing the club to move to his premises, and for the tiresome work that he has put in to enable us to get to where we are in such a relatively short time.
These thanks also go out to the other club members that have assisted in this process.
See you tomorrow evening.

Regrettably there will be no work parties this weekend, June 16th and 17th.
Gavin is away with the race team.
Mick T and Mick K are racing in Norwich.
Steve T is not available either.

Next week we will be there Tuesday evening and Thursday evening, 19th and 21st June.
Plenty to do as the plasterer has been in and finished the plastering so the final bits of skirting can be fitted, walls and skirting can be painted and the electrics finished off.
Work on re assembling the tracks will also continue.
We need as many hands as possible.

Cheers.
Mick.

Hi Mick,

Will there be a work party on Saturday? Work is getting in the way of Tuesdays & Thursdays at the moment. I know there won't be one Sunday because of Yorkley.

cheers

Yes John,
We will be there on Saturday from just after 9am.
I would like to finish reasonably early on Saturday afternoon as we're racing down at Yorkley on Sunday.
We will of course be there Thursday evening as well.
Cheers.

Hi Guys,
We will be there again this evening.
With the 'Double Trouble' meeting fast approaching we need to push on quickly to get everything done.
With that in mind we will be working both Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend.
Anyone who can spare some time to help will be very welcome.
Cheers.
Mick.

Ok Guys,
It's crunch time.
There is very little time left before 'Double Trouble'.
To put it very simply.
If we don't get both tracks fully assembled and painted by the end of this coming weekend then 'Double Trouble' will be CANCELLED.
We will be there working on Tuesday & Thursday evenings and all day next Saturday & Sunday.
We need YOUR help to get this done.
If it's just left to the usual few it will not get finished.
Please commit yourselves to helping out now.
Cheers.
Mick.

Hi Guys

Paint we need paint. I dont know what you want to paint the Scalex track with but it needs to be got! It was Portland gray sandtex some 10 15 years ago and that is not avalable now. Can we come up with what is wanted and can some one get it. I was hoping t get there today but it looks like I will be there tomorrow. Mick K is doing the bridge section and taking care of the supports of the banking, he can do with a helper but he runs at his own pace so he can be left to get on with that bit. The rest of the track can be worked on by a team of others.

Just so the work can move on a pace the next bits that must be done in ordre are:-

Fill the last few scerw holes and sand down, the track must be smooth before we cut any slots.

Cut the slots in the new bits.

Run the 3mm bit around all the slots.

Run the recess bit around all the slots.

Prime the recess

Paint the track

Glue down the braid

Are you demanding running the router round the slots to clean them out must be done with a radius bar and guides!!!
