Hi Bill,

The main straight is the same length as before. The straight under the bridge is shorter and has lost the kink. The corner after it is banked a bit as is the sweeper at the end of the main straight. The straight leading to the bridge is flat and shorter and the bridge corners have been eased and are hopefully more flowing.I think the track should have kept its old character though.

See you in just over a week.

Cheers

Hi Bill, that's just the pic - the main straight is just the same as before - but the sweeper at the end is now banked. I don't think you should have any need to shorten gearing. We'll add some comments from our experience from our first nights racing next Thursday.

Thanks for the comments. My recollection of the 'Old' track was the section you have shortend, the straight under the bridge down hill was the longest straight on the circuit. I may be mistaken, but it always felt a longer section than what you guys call the 'main' straight.
Cheers Bill.

Hi Bill,
The main straight, past the pits, was always the fastest straight on the track.
The straight under the bridge has a hairpin at each end and was always slower, especially with the kink in the middle. Not many cars could take that 'flat'.
Cheers.

Hi Mick,
If you have space for us Malcolm, Lewis, Andy Bartle and myself would all like to come and take part on the 2nd please, we've dusted off some cars although a few of us may have to go in the RTR sections.
Cheers

If there is anyone else out there who wants to come along and race we have plenty of space.
You don't have to post on here, just arrive on the day and we will fit you in.

If anyone wants to practice on Saturday 1st September I will be there from midday till about 6pm.
It would be helpful if you could indicate on here if you intend to come on the Saturday.

Looking forward to our fist big event at our new clubroom.

Cheers.

Hi Mick,
The nearest place would be the Holiday Inn on the A43. It's less than 5 mins away by car.
I'm sure Gavin will know some other local places and I'll try to get him to post some on here tomorrow.
I don't know who else might be staying over.
See you Saturday,
Cheers.
Mick.

The refurbishment of our Scalex track is now complete and ready for racing. I think it is better than ever. Thanks to all the club members who made this possible.

Look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

The first club race on the refurbished Scalex track at Rockingham took place last night - a good time was had by all! The track is in very good condition for the Classic Open this weekend.

There was one casualty during testing for the Classic unfortunately - one of Dave Farrow's GP stable had an excursion onto the floor....

Sorry I couldn't be there last night, the dreaded W word got in the way.

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday though as I need all the track time I can get as I'm really race rusty

I hope you can get your car fixed David.

Cheers

Hi Guys.

The track looks great !!.

I bet it feels quite different with the much lower rostrum.

Can't be with you this time, but will be there in spirit, or maybe even more !!??.

Enjoy yourselves.
