RS200

Subjective I know, but I am having to be really careful how many more cars I add to my collection so briefly if I could only buy one of the available RS200s (not counting the 'old' ones, which is best and why? PS, I only race for fun and do have some shelf queens...

Thanks for the opinions and expertise.

That's irrelevant, because having seen both you and your lass, you're punching well above your weight, so she must have eye sight problems.

Heres a few photos of the Scaley and the MSC versions together, I like the look of the Scaley car but I love the way the MSC car drives.
Each to his own I guess.

And here's the latest one I've bought.

trust me im the best looking man in stanley

thanks for the pics cabbyman now it i can see differences a bit better i suppose both cars are modeled well enough for me if scalextric got their fingers out of their bumholes on time i might have bought theirs before the msc was released but thats the way they go. the scaley driver and friend do look like little ugly big headed dwarf people. ford new umpa lumpa race team. it seems like they only bother putting effort into drivers in open topped cars.

Why is the letter "L" missing in "Belga" in all the pics I've seen of this vehicle?

The L is missing as a result of our nannying laws banning cigarette advertising.

OK, thanx for info, as a non-smoker I wasn't even aware of the Belga brand, or what it was.
I don't know whether to start another thread or not with this but having seen the MSC Subaru recently, the old 90s one, and whereas, to my myopic eyes the RS200 looks bloated, the Scooby looks like it's been trodden on by a mighty boot. Is it supposed to be a 'tarmac special' variant or something?

I am itching to get a car that runs as well as the MSCs I've seen but it's just gotta look 'right' to me too.
I saw the cars in the group B period and this is how it should be

My RS 200 scx that drives fantastic on a rallytrack not too fast and not to slow. Still looking for nices realistic rims but for the time being

TheMSC looks wrong nevertheless it's perhaps a much better car ehhhhhhhhhhhhh not true because all the guys that I know who bought one had quality issues

I'm actually more troubled by the inaccurate drive train than the looks. A 2wd RS200?!? It's just not right, but maybe it's just the engineer in me? From the pics of the MSC and the Scaley, they each have their problems. From the front, the scaley has a more accurate facia, but the MSC has the black around the headlights. And the drivers?! Well, MSC wins that one, but it appears they both got the helmet wrong!

And from the back, the MSC spoiler is too square at the corners, but has the correct tail light colors and the exhaust actually looks like an exhaust, unlike the silver plastic tube on the Scaley.

I've got a couple of the older SCX types, but I am going to get an MSC also!

Given that the reason AutoArt cars perform so badly is its insistence on using scale measurements... if you're that fussed, take the widscreen off the AutoArt Sierra and see which one it fits. The RS200 had about 40% in common with the Sierra and the windscreen was the biggest external part.
Mr M, we are not worthy. Quality.

Frankgoes, I'm going to go Google but is that Belga SCX a re-livery or have I missed one from the Spaniards somewhere?

A truly sensible suggestion. That is the essence of my dilemma. I want it to 'look right' and go well. I am prepared to compromise, but not to the extent of, say the Scaley TR7.

Glad it wasn't only me that found that amusing...

I've seen plenty of 4WD slot cars, but never a petrol powered one?
