Hi everyone

I'm planning on going on a road trip but I dont want to leave home without slot cars. With a car lighter adapter to a normal plug (can't remember if its ac - dc, or dc - ac) would it be enough to power a slot car track, and secondly for how long?

cheers,
Mark

We used to take a Scalextric track to the Coys Festival for the kids at our campsite and ran the track for hours with two crocodile clips on the car battery with no adverse effects, not forgetting an inline fuse, the only problem of course is that it attracts all the other kids on the campsite!

We ran Caterham`s for day time and lighted F40`s for the adults after dark.
I never thought of using the cigar lighter - good idea.

well as has been stated before its quite possible

car battery is 12V DC (lead acid) I think they are about 14 amp hours so you don't have to worry about using it all up in one night (for two cars anyway)
