Has anyone else out there got sad slot car related habits, or is it just me?
After I`ve been using any vintage Scalextric slot car I automatically (& without thinking) turn it over & sniff the motor...
I also kiss my Jouef cars after every use!
Would be nice to know that it`s not just me who`s a bit weird.
Cheers,
Kev.

Really? I am not the only one? Now that IS a relief
BTW. I forget to mention Jouef throttles get really hot & smelly after about five minutes use...smells gorgeous & I sniff my hand like there`s no tomorrow when I`ve been using this dangerous piece of 1960`s technology!-God knows what other dog walkers in the park think!!
Cheers.

The nearest I've got to a sad habit is having to have all races contested by cars that competed together in period.
Examples;-
1996 BTCC cars - Laguna and Vectra
2004 LM GTs - Porsche 997 and Morgan Aero 8
1995 F1s - Benetton 195 and Williams FW11
1998 rally cars - Megane Maxi and Toyota Corolla
You`re getting there Stubeedoo!
Yeah the old bodies smell sweet Delidubz....tell you what else is nice to sniff at.....the inside of those old Triang boxes...
Cheers,
Kev.
My wife and children have developed habits as a result of my habits:
My habit #1 - When ever the postman delivers a new car, the first thing I do, before it even reaches the track, is dismantle it and remove any magnet.
Wife's habit #1 - She always asks the same question: "Why do you always dismantle a brand new car?".
My habit #2 - Every new car, once dismantled and its magnet removed, is reassembled minus its guide and then pushed along the kitchen table while I make "Vroom, vroom, whizz" noises.
Wife's habit #2 - She always says the same: "You sad, sad man."
My habit #2 - Every new car, once dismantled/magnet removed/reassembled/pushed along to "Vroom, vroom, whizz" soundtrack, is placed on a shelf in the kitchen and the children are asked "Do you like my new car?"
Children's habit #1 - They always answer "No". Heathens. (Although a Fly Gulf Porsche 917 did once receive a "Not bad" accolade)
Awww thats such a nice caar i will have to buy another one to keep pristine... so far i have NO doubles... but it is just so tempting to keep one wrapped up all nice and safe... argh!!!!
My worst habit has to be getting up in the middle of the night and checking out this forum! If I spent the same amount of time working on my growing collection of untouched resin bodies I might actually achieve something.
