Sad slot car habits?

Searching and buying resin kits of obscure rally cars along with more obscure decals for re-liveries and then boxing them up for a rainy day - which never comes - basically too many kits to build and not enough time. Oh and buying too many raid cars when i specifically collect rally cars!

It is all SlotForum's fault!!! Before I found it by accident I had other interests and was happy with my life. Now I spend far to much time on here when I should be making up at least a few of the many 1/43 60s and 70s resin rally car bodies I have made into running cars. When I am not on SF I am usually on ebay huinting down another hard to find diecast to wreck and use for moul;ding.

Recently, while on holiday in the New Forest, my wife came with me to a toy and train fair (to keep an eye on my spending!) where I was looking for a Rover 2000. There were no 2000s in my price range, but there was a nice 3500 which I bought to possibly modify into a 2000. No chance! When she realized what I was going to do to it she adopted it and it now has pride of place on the mantlepiece! Must be a step in the right direction as it is the first time she has showed any interest in my hobby at all!

bad habit #1 when my lass is watching tv going through pendles/top slots/mre looking at pictures of cars and saying 'what do you think of that one' every 20 seconds

bad habit #2 if the controller feels hot trying to stick my tongue in the cracks to see if it can reach the resistor and feel how hot it is.

bad habit #3 taking a perfectly good car and giving it an awful paint job

bad habit #4 probably the worst one. if i get an extra shift at work or get some scrap cash i immediately think its extra bonus money, has nothing to do with bills or holidays and becomes slot money straight away.

i dont do it at the club because you never know if people have been washing their hands properly !
