Nice one Nuro!
It looks as though Scalextric is determined to undermine the one area where SCX had always traditionally been held in higher esteem - Rally Cars.
Scalextric seems to be going from strength to strength.

QUOTE (jnr_seahorse @ 29 Nov 2004, 12:01)Excellent review Nuro with some great photos.

You mention it is faster than the Scaley Impreza and Lancer. Is this unmodified or with the weights you mentioned? Also any idea how it runs compared to other brands, a SCX 206 for example?

I am certain that one will be winging its way to me VERY soon!

I have removed the magnets on the other Scalextric rally cars and added 2.5 g of weight behind the guide. I've trued their rear tyres and added some nail varnish to the fronts. Their problem, with their old guides, is that they're a little top-heavy and tend to pop out of the slot on the bends.

The Škoda sits much better, with better tyres, guide, weight distribution and the 4-wheel drive. It's honestly on a different level to the others.

Great review

I picked up the non-sport version earlier, and was quite impressed with the performance of the car. It is far better than I expected without the magnet.
Still doesn't match the performance of a SCX on our club track, but it does have potential.

Thanks for the update Nuro.

Definitely will be buying one now, (as if i wasn't anyway!) sounds like a great car.

I have found that on the various home tracks I have tried, that a magnetless Scalextric car can get VERY close to an SCX car once you have added a bit of weight although it can be harder to maintain this pace. So if this car is as good as it sounds maybe SCX have met their match, at home at least!

Interesting to see if they can make a mark at the clubs although Roadkills comment suggests not!

This car is a gem. The red, white&metallic green finish is ace and the livery and details are spot on.On my track the car performs well (better with no magnet)and is pretty pacey. I have noticed there is more control into bend with just 2 wheel drive, but maybe thats just me......nice review and pics . Marc (slot-victim)

Got one for Chrimbo and I'm well impressed with it - took the magnet out and it handled very smoothly allowing good power slides on my Sport track. It is comparable with the out of the bax SCX 307 which again handled really nicely straight away without any mods.

On my rally track the guide lets it down - unable to take sharp bends on inclines very well - the SCX and Ninco blow it way basically because of their sprung guide set-up.

However a big improvment on the handling charecteristics from their older rally car. Nice one Scaly
