That looks really nice, although it's a shame that instead of using a race livery, Scalextric has produced what appears to be the 2011 Sebring winter test livery. A Le Mans 24hrs version would have been a must have for me. As it is, I'll wait a year or so to see whether Carrera do one.

What is this famous "English" race? Are Hornby now so mired in avoiding licensing issues that they won't even mention Le Mans in press releases? Crazy.

Interestingly, this car finished 20th in both the 2011 and 2012 Le Mans 24hrs. The 2011 and 2012 liveries are very similar.

You're right. I didn't look properly at the Carrera details. It wouldn't take much for Carrera to change their GT1 to make it suitable, but I doubt that will happen, so it's even more of a shame that Scalextric hasn't done the Le Mans version. C'est la vie.

QUOTE (Keeto @ 3 Oct 2012, 13:44) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Seems Scalextric just can't be arsed anymore. I can't be arsed to buy them anymore. Not for £35+....over and out.
It's very sad, but that's exactly how I feel about Scalextric too. The Scalextric brand that 40+ years ago got me into this hobby was once dear to my heart and was my preferred manufacturer, but the catalogue of errors, sloppiness and apparent incompetence in the last couple of years has gone too far for me.

Hornby has said that it won't make a profit this year. If Scalextric played any part in that poor performance, we can but hope that heads will roll and things will move forward and upward in the years to come. Scalextric was (still is?) a great brand. I'd love to see it back at the top of the slot car pile.
