Hi, is there anyway of testing a Scalextric Digital chip when it's not installed in the car, to see if it's any good. Don't have Scalextric Digital so i can't use the chip. Thanks Robert V.

Without a SSD base to test it on, all you can do it hook it to a motor and touch the leads to a battery to see if it makes the motor go. Problem is, that's not a complete test, as the chip could still be bad in some ways.

Cars with the chip installed run both ways on an analogue track, not sure if this will tell you if the chip is a dud or not either.

From my experience, even with a bad chip, the car won't run in analog mode either.
