Is this the most expensive slot car or can someone top that ??

It will never sell for that, top value on this car is £600.
It may have been worth more if two full retail boxes (48 kits) of these had not been found about 10 years ago, so they are not that rare.

Now, it's sister car the CK2 Porsche 904, that's a different story, I have never seen or heard of anyone having one of these in mint unbuilt form!

But there are plenty more slot cars worth more than £1500, certainly to many to easily list here!!

The Cox Chapparal 2D that Phillipe mentioned elsewhere on this site some time ago sold for about $12,000 a couple of years ago.
The most expensive Scalextric car is the C70/95 Bugatti, worth up to £3000

Cox Chapparal for £ 6600...well..well. You can get many things for that amount. Overpricing in its most insane way.

That is an amazing amount for a slot car, but I just saw a sale price for a 1:1 American muscle car I couldn't believe. A 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda convertible (only 7 built) just sold for $2 million!?! This car sold for about $6,000 new in 1971. Move over Bugatti!

And six grand was alot for that pile back then! My dad bought a fully loaded,last of the four door T-Birds for just under seven thousand. (5200lbs. of pure crap as I recall)
