I do remember reading a long time ago about it, that the Aston was much quicker than the merc due to very differing guides. I suppose you're right. old scaley cars really were quite shockingly engineered as well- I've often wondered who lthe rocket scientist was who said "let's get rid of a load of weight at the bottom of the car..." even so, that aston is pretty.
