OK I have purchased one.
Mrs Moped says its looks very smooth going around a circuit which includes a Scalextric radius 1 hairpin and a radius 3 ess. And Mini Moped was lapping nicely after 10 or so laps of practice.
Don't take the views of the neggies here to heart Scalextric, many of whom are club racers who will not be purchasing any of these. For the home racer or the newbie on smaller home circuits, which you had in mind when you designed these, they are fine. As a first introduction to slot racing for MotoGP fans this should have them hooked.
Although I do have a feeling that at some point clubs will start to run races with these.
And I simply cannot wait to race these with others when you set your SPORT World internet MotoGP racing league up. That is going to be a lot of fun.
And leaning would only complicate things for the slot racer. You are clearly able to judge corners much better if the bike remains upright and you are not bothered by it when you are focused on running these around the circuit. And you quickly forget about the structure underneath the bike also. It makes me wonder why folk are making such a fuss about the guide pod under the classic F1 cars? It will not be noticed when they are being raced in the same way that the MotoGP ski is ignored by the eye.
So well done Scalextric for a very good effort given the design brief.
Have any of you any questions about the handling and perfomance?
