I see that Scalextric are auctioning pre-production Ford GT40s on eBay, the proceeds of which will go to the Cancer Care Appeal .

When I last checked, the highest bid for each model was $280.00. Scalextric claim that Lot 1 (Ford GT40) and Lot 2 (Ford GT40 Mk. II) are the first test shots from their moulds. A Certificate of Authenticy from Hornby Hobbies accompanies the cars.

How much would you pay?

Kind regards

Still 7 days to go before the auction ends and the highest bid for the GT40 is now up to $575.00, with the Mk.II at $455.00...

I think that what Hornby has done is truly praiseworthy.

Hornby over the years have auctioned off quite a few slot cars this way to raise money for charity. Which I think really reflects well on the company as showing it's heart is in the right place.
