Very nice car, I wonder how it compares in size to the Scaley GT40, they are both small and light (the reviewer at HRW added half an ounce of lead!) so perhaps the Skoda is capable of outperforming the GT40 on the straights.

See...I did that for you.

It is a nice little model. Smashed it around some more this evening with racers here and most felt it to be a good runner. Body shape seems pretty close to me...then again I am no expert on Skoda and have only seen them via our wonderful Interent and judged by photos.

Matches pretty good with even more of the NINCO models I have. Granted, some of them are very old (Man...NINCO isn't that old...lol) but found some good match-ups...wish I had some SCX to go with them.

At first I did wonder at the sense of making this little runabout wagon, I mean, Skoda have been rather quiet in the WRC; but today I read that Mr McRae might be talking to them about next year... that would certainly shift a few more units in the UK.

Skoda have been taking some time out of the WRC this year for testing purposes for a WRC car in 2005. They came back in the 6/7th event to see how well the car performed. They have been using 2003's drivers-Tony Gardemeister and Dider Auriol-I think. Colin McRae did take one out for a test drive the other day so this suggest he might take them up next year. I also have heard he will be doing next years Paris-Dakar Rally-is this true?

he did this years if i remember rightly so its very possible

and the 1:1 fabia RS is lots of fun..picked ours up the other week

Thats a nice looking model, but Im not so sure its a 'New' belt drive system...........not unless the Audi Quattro's are still new

Belt drive on the Skoda is different to the old Audi and quite firm, i.e. you can make the rear wheels turn by turning the fronts, not something you can do with the new Ninco 4WD belts.

Another difference is that the Skoda has a 1:1 drive ration front:rear while the Ninco (Subaru in my case) spins the front axel faster than the rear. Not sure what the benefit of that might be, especially as the belt won't transfer much torque, if any, to the front axel via the belt.
