You could try looking on e-bay for complete layouts up for sale and see how the bids are doing to gauge your start price.

i've seen similair circuits (i.e. same size etc.) go for about £150-£200 on ebay
Caps lock key is usually found on the left. For the rest of our sake, please press it.

AH, THANKS i ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT THAT KEY DID

Good luck selling your track Paul. Btw, how are you intending to build your new layout - will it be a routed wooden track?

why is it that you always get people willing to comment when you use caps it is not that that i was shouting or anything else i just prefere caps "GET A LIFE"

nope not going down the routed track road yet i purchased 7 of those bargain carrera sets and will be using those as the basis of my layout i like the extra track width etc

so if anyone out there has some track ideas to fit on a 9ft x 4ft table single width carrera track (2lane) with no crossovers then feel free to post your suggestions

thx paul

hmm..9x4 will be quite tight for Carrera - nothing too complex happening, but no reason why it can't be fun.
Have you tried the FREE track planner from Carrera, d/load via their website?

To quote a "Learning the Web" website:

What is wrong with all caps?
You should not use ALL CAPS when using Internet applications. This is important! If you use all caps you are YELLING at someone, not emphasizing a point. Unless you really are upset and wish to yell at someone, use normal sentence case. Internet users can be very touchy about this. They will know you are a newbie.

It's harder on the eyes, looks like you have nothing to say worth hearing, and is an abuse of the English language.

Back on topic:
Carrera will do you well, but you'll be hard pressed to fit a layout like you might be thinking of in that small space. Also, what are your thoughts on the stripes down the middle of the track? Is this something you like, dislike, or have no opinion on?
thx for replying guys yes i have the carrera track planner but i cannot seem to either get it working how i would like it to or just lack the imagination to design a track

as regards the lines down the centre of the track i like them maybe its because its soething different as i have always had scaley track (narrow and plain black)

if the designs are proving difficult because of my request to have a flat track then i can always change my mind and have a overlap or crossover in the design if this makes things any easier

once again thx for the help

Thanks cup for criticising the caps. I use the internet a fair amount; as a mode of communication, when lacking tone of voice and manner of speach, the way something is typed becomes important. I too find all caps very annoying and distracting, so thanks Paulh for returning to lower case

Yeah, thanks for finding that magic key. Wasn't trying to be rude, maybe a little sarcastic?

I personally can't find a single good thing about Carrera track just because of those lines. It's like Artin and it's borders. To me, visually, it's even worse than excess caps!

Any chance of returning to the original thread topic

the carrera track is wider perfectly flat and is also made of stainless steel and because of argos's generosity extremley cheap so rather than selling them on ebay have decided i will make a layout using these sets as a basis

so any chance of some designs guys pls with sugar on top ?

I'll have a quick go and see what I can turn up
I'm at work whilst posting this so it will have to be later in the week when I'm at home
coz that's where the planner is.

A lot of track plans of layouts which can be made with multiple argos layouts have already been posted on this forum. Use the search facility and look for argos layout,m or trawl through taracks and sceneries
