Has anyone used to old Scalextric Start Gantry (C509) with Scalextric Sport track? I have the opportunity to pick one up for $5 and I thought it would make an interesting addition to my current track. Any pitfalls or problems with this piece I should be aware of?

I have mine on my Sport track and no problems at all.

This piece is stand alone, you will need an old style power pack to run it.

Is this the black gantry with the red LED's which cycle towards the centre before the green lights come on? If so then it works with a 9V PP3 battery

I use one with a 13.8 power pack no problem.
