Wankel Ickx has said in the banked curves thread in the news section:-

QUOTE And yes, it is nice (awful word) to see new track pieces, probably the most underdeveloped and taken for granted section of the catalogue.

So what developments are required?

thanks for that Cissy - now i can say - Me tooooooooooooooooooo!

ideally one that you can use with the world system as well as digital, and leavs space for a pit wall! oh and if the switching lane bit can also be used to divert the track, so you can set up the layout to be the long circuit or the short circuit that would be brilliant! Oh and multiple lane versions too, Thats all for now!

Enough already - I'd hate to see how carried away you all get by a good joke. I'm Cissy. Can we get back to the point of this thread now?

We've got wider and rough and grey, but not all at the same time. Of those I have to say I think grey (i.e. real tarmac colour) is the best move.

I'd quite like to see water-proof and maybe even frozen. Surely making a section you fill with water to use either as a water splash or freeze and use the track power to keep frozen would be great fun and tie in nicely with the rally cars. How about that instead of yet another Subaru.

Bloody great idea, grey would be superb and some proper rally surfaces would go down a treat. There, your not such a cissy after all. Didn`t get the blueyonder bit, even to that`s what I`m on? Maybe the `Witch Finder general` could enlighten us? Wankel?

2 and 4 lane (and more? good luck) versions of a "real line" around curves.. even if they have to be 90/180 for now.. slots that automatically come close... but not quite.. at the curves.

Borders that already look a little warn, and not so... (in the case of most red and white striped borders) plasticy?

Realistic race lines are something that the big boys are going to have to look at soon with the work by BLST and Xslot in the limelight.

These Real race line track pieces could still be compatible with SportWorld and Sport Digital.

If Scalextric don't make them, I'm sure that BLST could make them to fit Sport track.

A pit lane that doesnt make both lanes thin. So you dont get stuck behind another pitting car.

Not that I have ever used a classic pitlane bit still.

That'd be awesome.

Other similar items such as a padock you can connect to the track, I saw a classic one on ebay with rubber road and then slots and braid beggining out of the end. The rest was a large parking area covered in a minature tent thing.

T'was an erroneous stab in the dark, Jonny. Like so many of mine.

Although I don't have any Sport track I would like to see them reintroduce the PT-55, was it? The quarter of a double inner, I think. Always a useful little section that one.

QUOTE (Jamie @ 3 Jun 2004, 23:39)A surface that provides non magnet cars erm, grip.
I second that.

I would also like to see Single lane track pieces - thats right have a special piece
of track that splits the two lanes completely and then you route them with
special one car width track and then merge them together again.
This stuff would be tops with sport digital !. You could make the decision to take
the v.tricky yet much faster short cut - or take the safe route.

Or you could have a giant hill in the middle of your track send each car
zipping past it on different sides .................. the possibilities are endless.
