I have my Dad's Scalextric go kart at home at the moment. The driver is missing his head but other than that he looks in fairly decent condition for a 50 year old toy. I'll take some photos and post this weekend.
I also have his lighted Lister Jaguar and a little blue Lotus F1 car. Both are complete but could do with a little restoration work.
I've just got hold of one of these, any chance I could see a picture of the underside please? apart from needing a good clean and new tyres mine is complete except for the steering wheel column which will be easy to fabricate from piano wire. I'm hoping the performance won't be too bad, hopefully I can get the formula junior motor going well. Was the motor bracket on these karts always grey? and was this unique to the karts?
That's great thanks Kev. Looking at yours, mine looks like it is complete except, as stated before, for the sterring column. The only other difference is that mine has a plastic plate which covers the motor, has yours got this and did you take it off for the picture? I've had a look at a few others currently on ebay and they also have the plate missing, any ideas?
Hi Pete, yours is a type 1. Mine is a type 2 which had no base fitted.
The motors tended to overheat on the type 1 with the base fitted, so the design was changed.
Cheers
Kev.

Pete, PM me your address and I'll put one in the post to you. There are some in the stock of 60's Scalextric parts I recently bought.
Keeps it original then
