Nice little type 2 Scaley Go-Kart.
Useless performance wise, but looks cute!
Cheers

Well Kev, I've never seen one of them before. Any chance you could bring to the next practice night, I'd love to see it in the flesh.

Soz I didn't make it last Weds, a friend's father was rushed into hospital, and I was on taxi duties.

Nice example Kev, something I have had my eye on for years, and need to buy one, one of these days!

The 5th edition Scalextric catalouge shows a blue edition as well, part of the GK1 'set'

I have my Dad's Scalextric go kart at home at the moment. The driver is missing his head but other than that he looks in fairly decent condition for a 50 year old toy. I'll take some photos and post this weekend.

I also have his lighted Lister Jaguar and a little blue Lotus F1 car. Both are complete but could do with a little restoration work.

Cheers

Gareth
That's a nice example you have there Kev ....

I have the blue version and it's a hoot to see it run around.

Btw, these Go-Karts are closer to 1/24th in scale .

Hi Kev,

I've just got hold of one of these, any chance I could see a picture of the underside please? apart from needing a good clean and new tyres mine is complete except for the steering wheel column which will be easy to fabricate from piano wire. I'm hoping the performance won't be too bad, hopefully I can get the formula junior motor going well. Was the motor bracket on these karts always grey? and was this unique to the karts?

Thanks,

Pete
Here you go Pete.
You can get a full set of tyres from RS Slotracing.
Cheers,
Kev.

That's great thanks Kev. Looking at yours, mine looks like it is complete except, as stated before, for the sterring column. The only other difference is that mine has a plastic plate which covers the motor, has yours got this and did you take it off for the picture? I've had a look at a few others currently on ebay and they also have the plate missing, any ideas?

Thanks,

Pete
Hi Pete, yours is a type 1. Mine is a type 2 which had no base fitted.
The motors tended to overheat on the type 1 with the base fitted, so the design was changed.
Cheers
Kev.

Pete, PM me your address and I'll put one in the post to you. There are some in the stock of 60's Scalextric parts I recently bought.

Keeps it original then
