I would like to be able to build some tracks using Scaleys track designer. However, it doesnt seem to be available as a seperate item from the RMS system.

So, is that the case ?, do I need to buy the RMS system to get the track designer or can it be bought as a seperate item ?.

You could always get someone naughty to copy it for you

I got my RMS for £10.50!! because it got mixed up with all the RMS extension kits and they stickered it up wrong. Easy mistake to do as they look so similar.

Well I do ONLY want the track planner portion of the software so if there is anyone naughty enough to do me a copy I would be very grateful

Mark, you know slotman? Look here - besides lapcounting and timing there is a trackplanner included - and it's freeware! Laptiming is only possible with special hardware - but planning software is one of the best available!

Hi Thomas, no I hadnt heard of Slotman before. It sounds very promising, I have just downloaded the necessary files so hopefully I can get to work with it this evening.

Wow, what a great piece of software. Just been getting familiar with it and once I got to understand how to manipulate the track sections it quickly became very obvious how to build a track up.

Already come up with a pretty good track using R2/R3/R4 curves tucked together like a 6 laner at one end to get 15.88m/15.87m lane lengths in 3.00m x 1.56m workspace.....in other words approx 52 foot lane length in a 10 foot by 5 foot workspace

...no problem Mark, this software has been developped by a friend of mine over three years now - with support from some others. He started slotracing and had lot's of questions - and he got a lot of answers from me and other guys organized in the DSCF - so he programmed this software as a revenge.
After some people started to sell his software - which has been freeware - via ebay, he modified it so it can't be used any longer with easy to build hardware as a laptimer - because he got mails of users with questions and other people earned money with it. I think Elmar would be pleased if you're writing him a mail with your comments.
FYI - the new free available trackplanner from Carrera is also based on slotman - and has been developped from teh same people!
What would you think about placing track plans, developped with slotman - here in SlotForum for free downloading? Is that possible? If not, I've a lot of layouts - Ninco and Carrera - on my HP where you might download tehm...
