Current racer mag has an advert for the 2002 (porsche gt1) and 2003 (gt40) club cars. porsche is £10 (UK) or £12 (worldwide) and GT40 is £12 each in UK or £14 worldwide (price incl p&p). Spoke to Peter Emery and he had re'cd 23 peoples orders - not sure how many he has left but this is an opportuinty to get hold of some cheap gt40s for makeovers.

He asked for my membership number but I'm not sure its an exclusive member only offer.

In repsonse to Turismo's request for pics, here's a rather hurriedly taken bunch - sorry about the quality!

For the money, these are probably the car bargains of the year, so far.
Very hard to beat, at least in UK.

I have just spoken to Peter Emery and, unfortunately, the GT40 offer is for members only.
. any comments on whether £19 per year is worth the money? After all that is one new car or loads of bits for scratchbuilds?

The issue of racer before last was great, the most recent one was not so good, presumably cos the staff were having xmas hols and getting ready for the toy fair. You also get a card that offers you a discount on scalex cars from shops that are part of the scheme, but i keep forgetting to use mine

I stopped subscribing to the magazine a couple of years ago. Reason being that the mag is poor and the cars you get are even worse !!
Take a look at the GT40, it looks disgusting in that colour scheme. It looks very toy-like. Shame on you Hornby for trying to palm us of with an excuse for a special edition.

School report:
"Must do better next time"

The Gt40 produced for the NSCC racing weekend last November is much much nicer. A model to be proud of, and looks good in my collection too.

I'm glad you liked your GT40, Compound.
Apart from a simple colour scheme, it is of course every bit as good as any of their other GT40s and I think it is there to be raced ratehr than just collected.
Ditto the Porsche - this disappointed me on receipt, but it's perfect for a bit of detailing practice and came in handy for a particular race at my club, too.
Bear in mind my pics are VERY poor quality - the GT40, in particular, looks much better in the flesh and I believe has been very popular, possibly the most popular of the club cars.
Can't help but wonder just how many GT40s have been produced in total, to date!

Mo55man -any chance of a pic of your NSCC model?
I'd also be curious as to cost. I'd guess they were a good bit more than these?
I keep MEANING to join the NSCC - this may be the reminder I needed to actually DO it!

Tropi,
I do have a picture of the NSCC GT40. I will need to ask Nuro for his help again as I am unable to post pictures from my pc here at work. I do have a pc at home, but it is not linked up to the internet. Why pay for it when I can use it for free.

As for the cost of the NSCC weekend GT40. It didn't really cost anything. The only cost was for the half board hotel room for two nights. The car is made specially for the attendees. Only 48 I believe.
