I reckon they're Mabuchi 18k but might be of lesser performance on average. I tested 7 motors out of Start F1 cars and compared them with 7 Mabuchi 18k out of "normal" Scaley cars. (test report at http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?...=59898&st=0 ) Of the 7 Start motors, one was very good(in fact, the best of all of the 14 motors), one was on a par with the other Scaley motors, 4 were relatively slow, and one was dreadful. (On the test report there is a list of times. The Start motors were the first time and the last 6 times)
