Hi guys,
I'm back with an update. Most of the changes are the painted figures and the "dressed up" grand stand. I also put up some more advertising boards on the pitlane and the tower. I put it all very close to eachother to get a propper idea of what I have allready. So in the permanent layout there will be more place between everything.
Like many of you said the scenery would look so much better with the figures painted... and it does... I'm glad I started painting the figures and I actually like doing the paintwork.
I took the pictures last night, it was very late. As you see it are more quick pictures than "artwork".
Overview
View from the top:
Seat (SRA) team preparing for qualifications. You see I have to take care of the inside of the boxes:
BMW Team Belgium waiting for their car. On the iron bars I will hang rubber air pressure hoses to make everything look more realistic.
Another BMW Team preparing: Those figures will be replaced by SRA figures because they look to old next to the other SRA's and the modern cars (which I will drive most of the time)... I will use these to stand in the paddock next to some Old Le Mans Racers. They will be preparing my 365 GTB/4 for a Classic Le Mans series.
Team Alfa: They have to do it with the 147, but they're waiting for Tarquini's 156 GTA ETCC to complete my ETCC set (the car is ordered). The jackets of that crew is not matt, although I painted them with a red Humbrol matt paint (174 or so). I bought an other red Humbrol number (t60) to paint their SRA replacers and now the color is good. The SRA's are drying at the moment. So these guys will be repainted and will go to the paddock with the rest of the older figures.
Search and find... the Evil Fly!!!!
Team Belgium and Team Germany passing by the pits:
The Coca-Cola grand stand (now you see I need those Carrera figures to fill this up):
Accident (you see I have to learn the dark wash technique for painting faces, but I'll try it first on the figures I have to repaint anyways.
A man's got to do what a man's got to do...
An official poster of the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa this summer (only a little smaller than the original). I hung quite a few of these.
Hope you don't mind the large amount of pictures
