Just to be sure: the use of rechargeable AAA batteries is not recommended i suppose? These NiMH (Nickel-Metal) batteries do 1.2 V instead of 1.5 V per battery.
Or is that what you meant with Lithium batteries?
1.2 V works fine in many devices, but certainly not in all. I reckon the controller needs 1.5 V. Check?
