ryk4racing: yep, that's exactly it.

For recording, I was able to do several tries. I then just took a recording with some good and consistent laps for the pacer.

Those "good" laps were not about pushing to or over the limits, but they were just good. I would say they were sort of "90%" laps.

Then doing the racing against this consistent driver was quite a challenge. He was really unforgiving!

Looking forward to reports from other users on pacecar performance

QUOTE (MrFlippant @ 21 Jul 2015, 06:19) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yep. I get it. And that's the challenge... to maintain the consistency that the computer can, while also going fast enough to catch up and pass.

SSD has had recorded lap ghost/pace cars for a while (first with SSDC, then with RCS64 as well), but without the multiple calibration points that make it truly viable for more than a few laps. It will be nice when the Locator Pro product is not only available, but integrated into the race management systems for SSD, so that we can have this level of ghost car accuracy as well.

Exactly why I developed Locator Pro. Even though its been slow for the RMS teams to integrate I believe it is finally happening with RCS as I spoke to Martin last week, and as you can see Dave will be able to to add this into RCD.

Dieter, even if they are SLCs you could still insert the LED in the other lane as a calibration point. Im guessing you have already thought of this.

So if I'm using the second lane change beacon (lc2) to liven the exit on a single change. Will I still be able to use pacer cars? Or will the software lose its location if the car gets placed in the wrong lane?

Firstly, it's not necessary to have the IR-LEDs in both lanes, it just increases accuracy.

Secondly, using the IR-LED to liven the exit flipper should also be no problem. However, I never tested.

In fact your question made me thinking again. It's absolutely no problem to connect two IR-LEDs to this one driver of the lane brain.

So, we could have both!

I never thought of that. I love this idea. However, I will have to double-check with Dave, whether this is possible and whether this will return good results.

Cool! Thanks for your question
