Hi Guys,
Ok heres your chance. What functions/features would you like to see on the new Scorpius RMS?
For me I only need practice mode, timed races, lap times, best lap time, driver set up, fuel, tyres, ability to dump results to spread sheet and a few other bits and pieces.
The most important thing I think is the ability to use intuitively as much as possible.

Can this system run (or be made to run) analogue racing also?
This would be a valuable feature for commercial tracks being able to switch between the two forms of racing with a single RMS.

Nice work Rick software looking top notch, I knocked up a 1/15scale car today with scorpius chip and controller it is wow!! blinkin smooth.
Re software development request would it be allowing for remote control of the system its a feature in pc lapcounter that is very useful .

Using which hardware to control?
I guess we could do that now using a spare wireless controller.

I use it to control the race start and finish with my own program i have written which puts all the atmosphere into the race
and race room with track map intro formation lap and f18 flyby yes i have an f18 that fly across the track, countdown lights then it starts the race in beteween races it has a visible countdown on all screens till next race while playing some race room music. Mainly was used with webcam to start stop pause the race/track call ect, if the software allows i can rewrite my program/or if code is available? not a huge dramma just a ?. I beleive i could run both systems with on off switches, keep the 1/32 scale on scaly and the 1/15th on scorpius.

Oh I've definately gotta see that!!!!!!!
Imagine the sound of and F18 thumping through a massive subwoofer

Way cool.

I had a quick blast with a 1/18 scale Commodore the other night at a mates track. He built it on a custom brass chassis and had a 16D motor, good fun and it went well.

Thanks Rick, like always I missed it. I like the LB setup page.
But I have to say the interface looks very early 80's and the color are just not very modern. I am presuming this is just a beat, work in progress and that by the final release it will look much cleaner like the O2 rms for instance or any other piece out there ?
maybe you can do a gray background (same color are the buttons on the left) and have a subtle logo on the lower corner or upper corner.

remember keep the text simple. It make interfaces look much more elegant.

Hi Cesar,

Scorpius theme colours are black, orange and green. Blue is the default colour during development. Remember functionality first.

I dont think it will be long before there is a lot of club level scorpius racing. Our group is heading that way...

From a club racing perspective....having the ability for a marshall to manually award a black flag is important. In particular, for rear ending and deslotting the car in front. Will the RMS have the ability for a race steward to easily manually award a black flag. Some things like jumping the start, RMS can detect, but one car crashing another will have to be done manually.

Should a driver not do a pit drive through, lets say it was on the last lap or the driver chose just not to do a drive through, can an adjustable time penalty be added to the finishing time. The RMS will detect that a driver finished with a black flag awarded and add and adjustable equivalent penalty on to the finishing time and automatically adjust the finishing order.

Is this possible? Or something to consider

Manually entering penalties is possible but won't be on the first release. I was thinking if the race finishes before black flag is served the last amount of laps recorded before the penalty is served stands? Ideas?

The only possibilties I see is if the second deslots first place on the last lap etc or someone refuses to serve a penalty, etc. Until a later release, the adjustment may have to be a bit adhoc from racing group to racing group. If the racing group has a system where penalties are applied for deslotting the car in the slot ahead of you, some kind of RMS system would be very handy!!!

I am sure our group will sort out something in the short term.

Were up to beta version 96 to give you some idea of the work going on behind the scenes. We are configuring RMS for PEARL and ironing out a heap of bugs, and artwork being done. Fuel us working perfectly and black flag seems to be working fine. We are now in the process of allocating a pit bay for each car so the system knows if you are in the correct bay. Auto name registration and QuikRace are also very close.

We should have something out in a few weeks.

Also planning future vibrator and wireless headset architecture.
