Ok i know people have started to plan there Scorpius tracks so it would be realy nice if you could post some info about your tracks here. I gues the tracks
will appear in the "Tracks & Scenery" thread but would be nice to have a quick list here :)

G'day Everyone

I am looking at doing a track that would be familiar to large number of people around the world who have played Gran Turismo on the Playstation.

My Scorpius track will be using Carrera digital track pieces and will be based on Tsukuba Circuit in Japan. Home of the Time Attack and Best Motoring video Magazine Tests(If your a japanese car nut like me you will know what I'm talking about...lol). As I think you can see it has a little bit of everything.

The pit lane will come later and will most likely be routed MDF so that I can fit the pit boxes closer together to fit more in. More lane changes maybe added later if I feel the track needs them. Track lenght is over 26 metres.

Mine will also be based on a Japanese track, the Suzuka Circuit. It'll be about 6.5m X 2.1m with 18m lane lengths. Just finishing off the room where it'll be built. Hope to build it this fall. I may leave off the pits initially to try to save a bit of cash. Can always add them later though.

Hi,

would like to add my Ninco track as well.

This track is already operational as a N'digital track and makes a lot of fun, but I'm red hot on Scorpius, as the technical sections are quite challenging with the limited control N'digital gives.
BTW: We raced the track without the R1-sections for a while, but we felt it was quite boring after some racing, so I went for the R1-Sections and I have to say that they are cool to drive.

I will have to change the pitlane a bit, as the entrance won't work with the additional 10 cm Scorpius requires. All other things should do fine.

Here you are.

Grid line are 50 cm wide (the plan is about 4,00 x 3,00 m small)
Colors are as follows:
light brown: borders
R1: red
R2: blue
R3: green
R4: black

Best regards,
Diegu

Thats something on the "to do" list, all the hardware is in place, just some programming.
As for the track if you had a LC on that corner, its exit point would be past the pit entry the way I imagine it, you could of course tweak the pit lane to match though. As Camber says, its a semi best line.

Scorpius needs 8.5V min. to allow it to operate. At 8.5V the car is still way too fast. Throttle manipulation is the way to go.
However I might be able to program the car chip to go to a certain speed if it hits a certain ID LB. Otherwise I need to go via PC or even PC and throttle.

this is my current N'Digital 4-lane track that I would like to change to a Scorpius setup.

Don't know how the N-Digital system works when you need to switch lanes, but can you really go from lane 2 > 3 > 4 and into the pitlane on that short distance (under the bridge)? Shouldn't there be longer between the LCs?

The general rule is one LB per LC + 1 LB for lapcounting.
As the pits count as one LC you dont need an additional LB. However we still need to write the software that tells PC Lapcounter off a pit lane or pitbay entry. PC Lapcounter does not have use for a pit lane exit signal (yet), nor individual pit bay. And then there would have to be a box to tick if you have multiple pit bays on top of the pit lane, which is a slightly different scenario.
It will be all programmable from the LB set up page, so you can assign any LB to any ID and any function, but lapcounting will always be 0.
With lap counting through pits LB comes with 4 LEDs on fly leads, so thats enough for 2 lanes + one for pit lane + one for pit bay. Additional LEDs can be wired (with correct polarity) in series of any of the 4 existing LED flyleads.

This is my digital road course. It's currently D132, and is laid out on top of my 4-lane routed track (so I at least get to enjoy the scenery). I plan on re-routing eventually for a 3-lane digital/analog (with some resloting lanes here and there). In plastic, it's about 90', 20' x 12'. With digital I'm racing counter-clockwise.

The top left curve and bottom right curve are about 10" above level. Infield curves are "level", etc.

Currently the pits are actually on the top straight, and the bottom straight. I needed to have them on opposite sides for D132 as cars would too often slow before making it to the pits and block racing traffic. I plan to route a set of 4-6 pits around the inside of the bottom left curves.

I figure I'll need 8 LB's: 1 pitlane LB ,1 for 2 pit bays, 5 for 5 LC's, and a S/F
