SCP-3 Firmware Issue

1028 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  MALAFAMA
I recently purchased two Slot-It SCP-3 controllers to run an ARC Pro system. I was able to successfully register one controller, flash it to the latest "ARC" firmware, sync it to the ARC Pro base, and subsequently run a car. When I tried performing the identical setup for the second controller, after flashing it to the latest "ARC" firmware, it appeared to be successful, but the digital readout on the controller did not confirm that the firmware was "ARC". After powering off the controller, then powering it back up, the digital readout on the controller stated "Pt", and it obviously would not sync to the ARC Pro base. I tried repeating the firmware flash, but I could not get the Slot.It App to communicate to the controller.

Is there a way to completely reset the controller?

I tried a couple of button press combinations upon power up to see if there was a magic combination, and I was able to get the Slot.It App to communicate to the controller. After multiple attempts at reflashing the controller with the current "ARC" firmware, now the Slot.It App doesn't even recognize the correct device. When the controller does connect to the Slot.It App, the only device I now have to choose from is "DfuO2HC".

My mind is blown!! Is this controller a lemon? Please help - next step advise would be greatly appreciated!

No recuerdo exactamente cómo funciona, al hacerlo solo una vez mi cerebro borra mucha información.

ha aprobado con DFU?. A mi me suena algo asi...
intente encender el monado con la flecha hacia abajo presionada. Verás 8. y luego vas a la aplicación Nordic.
In some cases, the controller can enter a testing mode after flashing. To get out of this mode, indicated by the "Pt" in the LED display, you must complete the trigger calibration process (linked below). Follow that guide to set the trigger to normal settings, and you should be able to use it again. It might take a couple tries of the process, so don't give up if the first try does not get it back to regular function.

Yes, this does apply to the SCP3, even though the manual says SCP2.

@MrFlippant I truly appreciate the information, most helpful.

One would think that the manual would provide a list of troubleshooting codes for the LED display - but I could not locate that anywhere. I did go through the trigger calibration process, was able to communicate using the Slot.It App, and drop in the current "ARC" firmware. What is a bit perplexing is that the Slot.It App will not list that controller in the device list, it only displays the first controller that I setup. However, when powering up the second controller, it does scroll the "ARC Firmware 3.16" message on the LED display, which leads me to believe that it is good to go. Cannot confirm until I get home and try to sync it to the ARC Pro base.

Again, thank you - I will let you know if it syncs up.

Cheers!

Jason
If the controller doesn't tell you to launch the app to register, then it should be good to go. You can still try to register it as if it needed to be registered. If it has been registered already, the app won't allow you to register it again. If that happens, contact slot.it about the issue, so that they can manually edit the registration database.

@MrFlippant , thank you sir!

Just got home a bit ago, and I the controller did successfully sync to the ARC Pro base. Additionally, I ran the trigger calibration sequence on the first controller, and it actually works much better now, than it did out of the box. I can't thank you enough for your expertise.

On another note, I will contact Slot. It, as controller two still does not populate in my list of devices. Pretty sure that after I registered it initially, after it didn't sync up, I removed it in an effort to start fresh. Hoping they can do as you suggested and manually enter the information.

1000 thanks!

Cheers,

Jason

They will probably need you to provide the MAC address of the handle, which they'll tell you how to get, but it's not hard. They might copy the info over from your other registered handle, or remove that one from the database entirely so that you can register it on your account. Either way, you'll end up with a registered handle without too much fuss.
Cuando el compañero dijo que ahora solo veia dfO2Hc... me acordé de este video de Mr Flippant
