Hi all I've tested the cars over the week-end and the first round will take place this coming saturday evening (Danish times) but I'll post a more accurate time when I'm there.

First round will be the "Well Mountain Shopping Mall"

Kind Regards
Lars

nuts track!...the big question on everybodies lips, do you get points added OR deducted for the amount of spectators/innocent shoppers you kill on the way around!

have fun..like the way you say "tested".......!...you mean played with!...did you find the layer of mexican dust on the cars still?

Yeah :) I was considering playing with "casualties" I have another rowdy party of spectators coming in.
The question is do you get time added or deducted for each hit ??

Yes the cars where/are very dirty and just about all cars are running on slicks :-0
But after a couple of rounds and the removing of some bushes/burned flesh, snakes, scorpions, explosives, drugds etc. etc. they started to work ok

Some heavy braid wear on a few cars and some guides that need a little sandpaper for the guides (1 of the 037's have a huge ninco guide that gets stuck in the x-overs) and some scraping the buttom of the tracks. But more on thast later.

The track is mostly old Scalextric Clasic.

haha the slicks were full tread rally tyres before little mexico!, but we burnt a fair bit of rubber and a lot of the money in spares went in the rebuild of gazzas phoenix!
beware of rally p´s driver hes a ladies man, and there is an on going feud between the mini and the ferrarris!

bring in the cowboys i say!!!

cheers boss looking forward to it

Lars,
Looks like a cool layout... as expected, wear&tear on the cars after so long "in-the-field".... been a grueling series and they all need to limp home.... 131's excepted - unstoppable... indestructable and unbeatable.

Have fun Saturday - Cheers, Bob

Good morning all today the first stage at Well Mountain will be run.
The stage will start at 16.00 hours that's in about 7 hours from the time of this post.

But before I start I need someone to give me some info on the finer workings of the SCX Rally Cronometer.

The display does not display many characters, and I wonder how you see the digits of the time on longer runs ???

Hi Lars

To set the amount of laps before a race you hold down the "mode" button until the screen show 3 lines, then toggle between 1, 5, 10, 15 or 20 laps with the "select button", then start the race with the "mode" button again. After the race is finished you can just press the "mode" button to restart another race with the same amount of laps.

After a race is finished you toggle between "total time", "fastest lap" and "average lap" with the "select button", but for each selection give it a few seconds and the display will first show minutes, then switch to seconds, and finally hundredths.

The full instruction manual can be seen here: http://www.scxworldwide.com/uploaded_files...Crono_Rally.pdf

Have fun Lars ....

You guy's do know that there are things out there called computers, and you can even get them small enough now that you can carry them around in your hand.

All jokes aside, the running of any future events should incorporate a standardized timing system

Chronometer's and stopwatches are a thing of the past, there are programs out there at the moment that can do everything you need.

Race Coordinator for example can be permanent, or it can run through a web cam, so it can be a temp set up via your laptop and the results are saved on a in house xl spreadsheet, which can be posted as is or tarted up straight onto google if you want.

SCX Classic Rally Proxy series 2011
Round 11 - Rally Denmark
Stage-1: Shopping mall

Current standings after stage-1

Still an open battle with two stages to go, except for in class-1 if that Renault 8 continue with it's impressive speed.

Thanks for the results from first stage Lars, looking forward to see the pics.

Fishy chicken legs??? That's got to be the oddest comment I've ever heard applied to a slot car. Don't suppose you could clarify for an interested bystander.

Hello Lars,
Thanks for taking the time to do this - looking forward to next weekend -all eyes on Denmark.

Hello Ember,
I'll answer on behalf of the SCX community - the connection between the chassis power tracks and the motor (and also the lighting circuit) consists of (mildly) springy copper/brass "legs" reaching from the motor to the power rails in the chassis. These legs are a curved shape and are quite spindly - hence chicken legs.
You can just about see the chicken legs in the photo below (courtesy of member mfogg)

Kind regards, Leo

Thankyou. It all makes so much more sense now. And chicken legs is much more succinct than top brass rail connector doo-hickeys. I shall remember to use it in future.
