I asked a stockist about these as I thought the no cord idea was a good one and I was told that the major problem with them was that their default setting was full power.
That meant that if the base and controller were not in infa red contact with each other, like when something gets between them, FULL POWER is applied.

Consequently the stockist advised me to buy exstension cables for my controllers instead.
