On the SCX Cordobas (60460 & 60720 to name 2) are the spotlamp pods easily removable? I like the cars, but I'd rather have them sans pods.

Do I need to keep specifically looking for the models that come without the pods, which seem to be a lot thinner on the ground? Or can I go for one with pods, and take them off?

I'm all for realism, but I'm trying to keep my rally car collection spotlamp-free, particularly as on the earlier cars (SCX & Scalextric Escorts, SCX Audi quattro, etc) they are so fragile.

TIA
Stuart.

I haven't ever tried to remove the light pod and don't have the car readily to hand to check how easy it is, but I have some reasonably detailed photos that may help you decide. It looks as if all that will be needed is a small bit of grinding to remove the pod.

Thanks for that Dopamine.
Those pics are a great help. It looks to me like the pod is fitted into the bonnet vent.

I'll keep looking for a 60750, ideally, or a 60450. But if either 60230, 60460, 60630 or 60720 comes my way for the right money, I'll see what I can do with it.
