Has anyone had an incredibly rough running one of these???

Im running a Williams in now on the bench and it took over 300 mA to get the wheels turning, it still sounds very rough, running at 4V and 130mA, not going to be a race winner this one me thinks.

Will be doing Mr M's in a mo, wonder if his will be any better????

SCX = Rally cars

Scalextric = F1 cars

I am still trying to recover from the sight of that terrible SCX attempt at the Walrus nosed 2004 Williams that was posted the other day. I don't care how it runs, take it away and lock it in a dark room and never let it out!

I think you could be right there, its just a shame that someone specifically chose these things as a class!!!

Still after an hour on the bench un-oiled etc its getting better..................V slowly

I have two SCX single seaters - a Jaguar and a Cart car and both go extremely well on a ninco track. Not sure how they'd run on a routed track but they are both fast out of the box and I haven't done too much WD40 treatment of them.

Why do I get this nagging feeling that mine will be slower?

Still, I've never raced one of these "deliberately" run-in cars and I'm sure daleg wouldn't want any sort of unfair advantage

What's this? A sudden sensitive side to impress your new "significant other"?

I'm sure it will still be better than if you just handed it to me in the box!

I do appreciate it!

Honest!

Yeah right!!!
It might have been worthwhile if she came on here as well!!

Not looking forward to tonight, really cant decide what car to use 'from the movies', what a class...............?!?!?!?!?

Oh and they both draw approximately the same amount of current from my power supply, if anything yours is marginally better. Will oil them up later and see what they do tonight, wheels are as round as a brick though!!!

My Williams is great with mag on a Ninco track but terrible on wood. But my Minardi is excellent on both. Can you believe I picked up a brand new Minardi with a bashed up body (broken mirror and cracked tail scoop) for about $20. I swopped the bodies and now race with the bashed up one and the new one is put away for one day when I retire the car it can look brand new again. A bit of useless information.
