Hi, I have heard from the well informed bloke at Modelzone that SCX are in trouble and may cease production. I was a bit shocked to hear this as I thought they were very popular with everyone, particularly the crackin' rally cars such as the MkIII escort and Lotus Talbot Sunbeam.

I was wondering if anyone here had more information as I am hoping SCX continue to trade indefinitely as I like their models and they make models other companies wouldnt or won't.

Matthew

Oh, just want to say, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it on the site.

Thanks

A bloke in Modelzone said it?

Must be true then.

RIP SCX.

Lol, thanks Ewan

He said he hadn't heard AutoArt stopping production, though he did say that when he saw the Revell Rep there weren't any slot cars in their brochure. The bloke in the shop was very knowledgable about Fly and their questionable build quality and Ninco.

The comment about SCX has appeared on the Forum before so I was hoping there may be more information around since it was last raised. With the demise of Powerslot :-(, ProSlot, Pinkar, Proteus and MG Vanquish and the ever changing fortunes of Fly/Flyslot I thought would be best to check on here.

Thanks

Matthew

SCX have shown their 2012 catalog, so they are not out of business. That is not saying that they don't have problems either.

Among the new models, they will do the Audi R18 and a Porsche GT2 and new liveries of existing models, like the Corvette C6R, SEAT Fura, Alpine A110, BMW M3 GT2, Mercedes SLS among others.

As has been explained before, the recent price reductions witnessed on SCX product at the likes of Pendles was due to the liquidation of stock from one distributor that went belly up. The rumours about SCX have been persistent for a couple of years. Let's hope they continue to be relatively unfounded.

Your Modelzone bloke probably reads the slot fora and is no more or less knowledgeable about the real situation than the rest of us.

Well, 24hrs the site is down now. That's more than a maintenance issue, or glitch. Or am I the only one having trouble accessing the site?

Hi Lloyd

We have not been told they have stopped making it yet !

There is stock still in Spain and we are still bringing it in when we need restocks so where has this rumour come from ?

Will put the question to SCX.

I don't know, but I tried yesterday evening and it was up then.

Edit: it is up now too.

We brought some sets from the states, think the main stockist over they was Target the supermarket chain which had some great prices for cars and sets but think they dropped it, same old story there.

Will keep you updated if I hear something.

Huh? Are you sure it is scxworldwide.com that you are accessing? I still can't.
