Hi guys,

I'm after buying a load of new scx NASCARs and wondering what you guys would suggest to run in a car from new? Getting myself a tyre truer so that side sorted but not sure what to run the cars in at and how long for? Also with oiling the tyres with 3 in 1 any tips with that be appreciated.

Thanks

you could run every thing in on the track, just dont give it full welly for 15 mins. or take the top off, oil everything, gears. bearings[axle] and run it for 10 mins at 3 volt and 10 mins at 5 volt. this will bed everything in nicely. youve got trued tyres so you can screw the lid back on and race it. i dont know what the tyres are made of, if rubber put a good spot of 3-1 on the tyres and smooth it over the out side of the tyres and let it soak in. then repete the process again. when dry clean the tyres with acetone or petrol. then your ready to race. its only a method i use, but there are many more ways, that other racers use.. if you want to do basic tuning, see if you can shorten the body posts to get the mass lower[without the wheels touching the bodywork]. make sure you have the full depth of guide in the slot and undo the body screws a tad, so you have body rock. a bit more advanced but worth doing, is to limit the up and down movement or the front axle, so the wheel acts as an outrigger instead of just moving up in the air whilst cornering. john
