hi
the only brand i have heard of wich damage sensers are the slot-it one's wich i am sure your'e aware of.

I would of thought that the easiest way to check would be to take a measurement from a scalextric car and check it against one of the scx ones.

I have run a scx mk11 escort in analouge mode no problems,but that did not enter the pit area and most of the deeper guide problems arise around the pitlane game or pitpro depending wich one your running.

I have about 30 or so SCX Nascars, and they work fine on my SSD track. No probs with LCs whatsoever. (They do need the RX42B motor to keep up with the Scalex Nascars though)

QUOTE (Trev @ 15 Jan 2012, 14:03) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>...Do you use the pit lane game?
Trev

Hi Trev,
No unfortunately I have no such thing...

However I do have a very nice alternative
:

PBPro+SH+A with PCLC and my own homemade pitlanepieces:

The basic timingscreen, with fuel gauges (note the pacecars have a fixed 100 liters in the tank, and the human drivers' tank capability is 40 l.)

Best laptime in purple (as in real F1 timing) See the tank level decreased, both analog in the gauge, as well as digital

When the tank level goes below a certain value, (in my case 10 l. that gives you an additional 4 to 5 laps to plan the stop) a voicewarning sounds,
it shows on the screen, and a strip of leds above the pitgarage illuminate (see next pic) (The blue bar in view is the driver that made the trackcall)

Here you see the leds for the red and white/grey team illuminated>>>about time to plan your pitstop!

Here the Gallardo makes his stop. Refuelling is done with 10 l. per seconds, and it starts 1 sec. after you come to a stop, so a stop to full tank is 5 seconds! (There is an IR sensor below the track that sees if there is a car parked on the spot)

Makes for a lot of exciting racing!!!!

Best regards,
Martin

Thanks Bigbird! There are quite a lot of pictures of it in the members layouts section (look for Skipsleat) back from the day when this track was still analog. (some 8 years or so ago...
)

Since then it has been digitized, and doubled the available "pit lanes" (when it was 2 lane analog there where only 2 active pits (duh!), I had (homemade) electrical lane changers to make it possible to pit, (of course the cars stayed always on their own lane, thats why the pits entrance was 2 lanes wide back then, as you;ll see in the pictures)

Nowadays there is a single lane pitlane entrance (home made from a cut up CLC and other cut up track pieces) and 4 pits (we hardly ever drive with 4 people at the same time, so 6 would be way overdone, I figured it to be too much extra work and not convenient in the existing space available)

And of course there are XLCs at tactical places along the circuit, as well as quite some cosmetic (scenery) changes. (that never stops anyway
)

Best regards,
Martin

Yep, Phidgets for the Pitleds, the pit detectors, starting lights, commands to PCLC, and the Finishflag waving man (no joke!)
