Hi,

I can get one at a reasonable price but need to know the following:
a ) What trigger mechanism does it have(beam or mechanical)?
b )Is it a lap counter and timer?

What power supply does it require?
c) Is it a stand alone thing or does it require some other SCX accessory?

On my track I use a seperate power supply for each lane.

I will be grateful for any help as the seller cannot give me much info.

it uses a reed switc in the new scx track therefore any on/off signal will trigger it. yes it uses a 12 volt input a ds system is better-nic

In South Africa about R400(new) approx 35 pounds sterling.
What does a new one cost in the UK? Unfortunately we have to pay a price here.The market is small for this hobby.
If it is reed switch activated, does the car's magnet trigger the switch?
Is it worth buying ?
What other brand of counter/timers are available?I have a Scalex one but it is to noisy for my liking.
I want a gantry type that is only supported on one pillar..thats why the SCX one appeals.

If you run your cars magless a reed switch trigger is useless. I used to have the SCX rally chrono and Scalextric cars and some Ninco didn´t register the laps when they passed. Very annoying.
