I'm at a bit of a loss to figure out the best way to replace the copper strips with wires from the guide shoe to the motor on my SCX Citroen C4. It's the guide that has me puzzled. I want to keep the spring that centralises the guide and I will need to fit a spring to the post I think. I have to keep within the SCX WRC rules too.

Can anyone tell me how they've done theirs?

Not actually done it myself, but looks like a straight swap for the two "tangs" being replaced by wire - solder directly to copper. Personally, i'd stick a connector in the wire so you can separate body from base easily.

Leaving the chassis copper exactly "as is" would negate the need for fancy footwork with the guide gubbins.

I have a car where ive soldered wires to braids, its not scx, but it does need constant care and attention. A hard swing out might loosen the connection or snap it off completely.

I like the scx copper strip system as its pretty much indestructible, and thats what I want when im sending my car around the world for nearly a year.
