Seems the 'designs of old' are never ending. So... why are there not more of those older bodies showing up? I can only guess that they are variations on a theme. In that they were produced "one off" by individuals with the same talents you, O2R and Eldon have. Just an idea Mike.

As for your question of: "What's been done and what's available"? Between Ray and Eldon I believe we have versions of a good percentage of Larry's designs available. While Eldon has been missing for a year at least, he emailed me two days ago saying that his business has finally been slowing down and he is hoping to return to the shop and pull some more bodies... soon!

Z

These are true first pull Shinoda's [no modifications, off of a original body that was pulled off of the original wood plugs]
Large Dart 1/24 and 2 versions of 1/32 Darts
Also 3 small Shinoda Buses.
Look close at the clear bodies, you can see the wood grain from the original wood molds, these are first pulls.
Plus a group shot,enjoy.

Thanks Gene!

So, what are these 3 cars in my first photo? Ray sez the middle one is a Shinoda GT.

Have you done the first two?

The 3rd car has had a lot of variations done of it but, it still seems unique as well as the other two.

We'll probably never know the real names of them or if they even had names.

Thanks Gene & Ray, this kind of makes this thread a "One stop" for seeing what's available in Shinoda styles.

Yes Ray, the Choti is on the back burner in my brain. Kind of idling in neutral right now waiting for final rules for next year. Still may try my own version if I have time.

If not, I'll be contacting you!

Some wild 'n crazy paintjobs there Ray, in true Raynoda tradition!

Rules won't be any different from what we have been talking about Mike. I simply do not want to to get a new race started until the old one is done and it is looking like March before that happens.

By the way, hope you are saving all Ray's pictures....

Thanks J, just want to get a definite ruling on the width and I think I could get started, was it 3" or 3.25"?

Oh yes, I try to get them all before they go down if possible. Again if anyone is interested here is my Raynoda Photobucket now over 400 strong.

The "Typhoon,"

...was my ONE Shinoda inspired effort based on the Shrike with basically a different canopy & roof line and more rounded body lines all around.

Don't know if I'll do anymore but, as the saying goes "never say never." There are so many Shinoda copies & inspirations out there it feels better (to me) to try to cover new territory but it seems, anything Shinoda is always a winner.
