Hi Harry

You're always so demanding old-boy.
Show us ur Astons...
...show us ur rug-racing.
How about PLEASE now and again.

Doesn't bother me old-stick...
...just thinking of the 'sensitive' types out there WHAT !

Designed this is case I get kicked out of the layout room.
You know, in the event of marshal law, if they manage to take my AK off me WHAT !

Not so much rug-racing as such...
...it does fit on the back door mat though.
I think the yanks call it a micro-layout, or a pizza, or something like that.

X-overs make it fair & square ( or should I say fair & oval ) racing.
Could be a good NASCAR circuit.
Challenge is, not to bump into the blighter in the other lane...
...not as easy as it seems !

Yes we have built it by the way.

Cheers

Si.

P.S.
Can be fun racing a drone car on this believe it or not !

Little corker she was...
...I mean the girl-friend at the time.

Layout wasn't bad either.
Both lots of fun WHAT !

Cheers

...we do have quite a big rug though !

( and I'm not talking about the new toupe WHAT ! )

Japanese Grand Prix - SUZUKA.
------------------------------------

Made a slightly smaller version of this, a half-dozen years ago.

It was on laminate-flooring though...

...is that OK with you WHAT !

Take care Harry...
...all the best...
...signing off for now...
...over & out.

I don't know if this counts as it's not really a rug, just some carpet tiles, and although it's not a permanent circuit in the sense it's not fixed down, it hasn't really changed much in the last couple of year's, anyhow here my track in the Attic. Regards Jason

Hi, here's some rug race tracks from a time before everything was 'beyond the loft hatch':

A couple more:

The oval was surprisingly good fun, especially with no mag cars.
I remember getting my Lancia 037 to slide pretty much all the way around the outside lane.
Cheers,
Richard

Lovely coming out the R4 bend sideways in full control with mags still in. Now put that in your pipe and smoke it.

" Show us your rug race tracks., For those who haven't got a permanent layout. "

Hi Harry

Just read your thread name properly old-boy.

Don't know If I qualify or not ?

What do you think ?

My layout is a permanent-layout...
...it is however; permanently on a rug.

It means I can sit in a 'drivers seat', instead of racing standing-up; which seems to me very unrealistic.
I'm a bit bemused as to why people want to put their tracks on boards with 4ft legs...
...and stand-up to drive...
...unless you're into 'Ben Hur' & all that chariot-racing stuff.

I have thought about putting the old track on 2x4's; but it just seems wrong.

What do you thing old-bean ?

Cheers

Si.

I don't think SF allows Vimeo embedding.
Unfortunately, my computer is apparently not compatible with Vimeo's technology, as the video just doesn't appear in the area it should.
Would it be possible to upload it to YouTube? You could then embed it, too.
