I have just heard that Professor Sid Watkins has passed away.

He will always be remembered for his massive contribution to safety in motorsport.

Had the privilege of meeting him and his lovely wife at the British GP this year, a real gentleman, only too happy to talk about motor racing and sign autographs. Will be greatly missed,

There are times when words just dont do it.
Today with all the oooh aah and plethora of drama queens within motor sport there are those
who go about there business quietly making a massive difference to all around them.
Dr Sid Watkins was such a man, to my mind never recieving the accolades that where
rightfully his.
Goodby to , as surfin put it, a "giant" within motor sport. RIP

Hi Mac,

The irony is that now that he's not around to enjoy it they'll probably have some sort of award or ceremony to celebrate him.

I think that his family should be more than rightly proud of what Sid Watkins achieved with his life, he has touched so many with his professionalism and skills.

A great loss to the world, a sad passing.

Never forgotten.

RIP Sid.
