As whitekits from Sideways I have 3 Lambos, 5 M6, 1 Ford GT and 2 720s.
Of all of them, 3 M6 and the Ford GT had the wrong front winglets (2 of the same side): I wrote the Chris at Sideays and got all sorted.
Of the 2 720s, one of them has the side vertical wings next to the door from the same side. I have not written to Chris about this....planning on fabricating one myself.

Dont think so, it’s the orange skin effect because of the heavy layers of paint without waiting to dry the right time, but the good news is that every car gets better as you move forward, I look back at my first paintjobs that once made me proud and “shake my head in disbelief”😉🤷🏻

Metallic colors are always a bit tricky and when you use cans the challenge increases. Since you are already using airbrush, I’d recommend next time use the airbrush, that would be one or two light coats of silver or chrome paint after the primer(silver or chrome could be can paint), and once it’s fully dry and you have inspected not orange skin appeared , then use Tamiya clear orange, always in light coats, the advantage of Tamiya clear orange is that you can control the intensity of the color coat by coat and they dry quite fast(15 minutes aprox between them), you will need 10 coats approximately of Tamiya for an intense color, remmember move your hand from nose to rear end of the car, smooth moves(don’t leave the button pressed over one point of the model or it will be heavy with paint and thus orange skin appears) if you have an airbrush with double action to control the amount of paint throwed would be good. I’ d recommend get a Paasche or Iwata, they are not cheap but if taken care and used properly last for life. Compared to my first jobs yours are great mate and I’m still learning, so way to go!👍🏼🙂

Seem to remember the likes of Joest and particularly Brun making use of the facility to easily change livery and sponsors from event to event in the eighties group C era Now I've sparked my own interest
I'll have a look through my big book of 956 chassis histories/ liveries to see which tub had the most liveries.
Pleasant afternoon in prospect for such activities ,along with pots of tea and chocolate hob nobs ,as Swmbo is off to see a couple of her girlfriends to tie up the last details of their Spanish sunshine week next month.

A lot of layers indeed, but you could have easily eliminated at least one of them. Also looks like the coat(s) of orange were applied too thick, or too dry.
Your color sequence is good: Primer, orange, clear, blue and black. But there's no need for the layer of satin clear between the blue and black.

With this livery I think the most important thing is to get a clear distention between the high gloss metallic orange and the satin gloss of the blue and black.
So I would try yo get the orange "perfect" first, did you do any sanding/polishing on the orange?

Ah. Let me advise caution there, fella. I gots a trademark on that phrase and a hotshot team of solicitors. I'm a tolerant man but just sayin'. 🤷‍♂️

I just read that the first livery would be released in February / March. No idea about the livery. My bet is the JOTA, but it is a pure guess. A factory livery Ford GTE (LM 2019) will be released within one week, a Mampe Zakspeed Escort (Norisring 1978) will follow, followed by the 720S and the kit of the Aston Vantage.

It is a bet, do not shoot me if it is another livery ...😂 Sideways did a lot of Huracan liveries from that championship, it is attractive and did well ... It ticks all the boxes ...

When I put these Slotfabrik decals next to the painted body, it became clear that the main part of the roof/rear deck section was not going to work for me. To many ducts and louvers to shape around for my skill level. Tamiya TS15 blue on the way. It should match well and I will use the thin wings on the sides of this section on the side panels of the cockpit.
Looking at pictures of the 1:1 cars nose and tail sections, it looks like they are that they are not flat, not gloss but powder coated look black. I guess I’ll coat matte black with semi-gloss clear. Looks like lots of masking and re-masking ahead.

I have the same decals on order and my plan was also the same.
I think I am going to paint it blue first and then use the blue decals as a masking template to apply on top of the blue base color and then spray orange.

Does anyone have an image of the rear of the Singha car? Seems each team used a slightly different paint pattern for the black vs. body color and I haven’t found a tail view of this one.
