Just finished a Simca Abarth based on the Porsche Abarth bodyshell I previously posted. Although the wheel base was the same, the position wasn't, so it turned out to be more difficult than I envisaged. I thought it would be nice to have the engine cover ajar as was common in the day. The lid was cast separately and a suggestion of the Abarth engine made up from milliput and wire although it's difficult to see much of it in the end.

Here's a few pics.

Thanks for the comments and likes.

The chassis is nothing fancy just PCS trimmed to fit with the 18v motor. There was just enough room to get the rear chassis mount in below the engine.

By my standard it handles pretty well with reasonable acceleration due to the 13 inch wheels and my own cast urethane tyres. I only have a tiny twisty track.

I agree, John. It's a wonderful companion piece to Michael's Abarth-Carrera, also shown in the 'raw' above. Raced mine last evening. It went extraordinarily well.

Everyone should have a slot Abarth in their paddocks. Innuendo not intended.

I like the high contrast between the blue of the sign in the BG and the red of the cars in the FG...pity for the vignette in the lower right corner of the pic.

I see what you’re saying, but I’m so obsessive, all I want to see is the cars. The bright-coloured background distracts me.
There‘s a function in Photoshop which reduces vignettes. Maybe I‘ll give it a try.
